If you want to become a faster sprinter, focus on strengthening your hamstrings. Improve your sprint speed by working out your hamstrings. The hamstring muscles are necessary for that push off and will increase your speed too. Use leg curls to work out your hamstring muscles, releasing slowly and feeling the tension. Faster sprints equal strong hamstrings.

Your abs can benefit a great deal from standard free-weight exercises like squats and dead lifts. You can tone your body so that your natural posture is improved and your oblique muscles are firmed by doing a minimum of five sets of ten repetitions each. Many neglect to realize that dead lifts and squats provide your abdominal muscles a workout as well. Tone and firm your obliques and gain a better posture by performing five sets of ten repetitions of each exercise.
