The importance of sleep is becoming more widely recognized by health experts. Not sticking to regular hours is one reason why many people have problems with getting the right amount of sleep. As an example, should you awake at 6 am in the weekdays and then 9 or 10 at the weekend, your body will be constantly having to readjust. Jet lag is what you get from flying through various time zones, which is equivalent to this. So you ought to get up near the same time each day. You can feel more rested and also avoid insomnia by doing this. Another tip to help you feel more refreshed is to take a twenty minute nap, preferably near midday. Having something to eat and then napping for a short time in your car may be one way of fitting this into your work day. Should this not work, having a nap before dinner and straight after work might be best.

De-stressing and unwinding are very important things you need to learn to do, even if you don't think you have the time. Go for a leisurely walk around the block.

You will more than likely start feeling better, when you go out of your way to smile. Even more powerful is when you laugh. If you are in pain and feeling down, try laughing, because that sets off endorphins, which lower your pain and raise your mood. When you choose to smile, it results in being happier, and it causes a reaction in people, making them happier, which in turn will affect your social life and job, in a good way. Think about how much you want to be around people who are miserable and never smile, so take a hint from that and start smiling more and people will want to be around you.

Having optimal health is a reachable achievement; although dramatic transformation will not take place immediately. For example, if you're going to start an exercise program, you have to start at your own pace and build up from there. If you want to eat a healthier diet, you may want to gradually replace unhealthy foods for healthier ones. This will allow you to reach your goals sooner than you think.
